Guess what. TOHS's resident LotR-fanatic wants to know if anyone else loves this trilogy.

I shall challenge them to a duel of Fanaticism, then. Maybe. Are those very fanatical people on this forum? Hmmm? LotR is my domain. [Insert evil possessive smiley emoticon here]

Lol. I liked the movies. Have not read the books. I LOVED the music. It was positively amazing. I do like the plot line. Something finally DIFFERENT. And, it does not end fairytale happy.

Something finally different. Hmph--LotR was practically the original fantasy book of that style, besides The Hobbit. George MacDonald wrote several books that could be termed 'Fantasy,' but Tolkien was the real Pioneer. Everyone else copies from him.

^I have to agree on that. Most DL and FR authors have a fantasy love that dates back to Tolkien. And yes, it does seem that Tolkien laid the basis for all modern fantasy.
I could be accurately termed a LotR noob... which is quite obvious as I'm perhaps the only one on A-U who has a DRAGONLANCE site instead of a LOTR site. Having the main villain role in Ellie's new rpg scares me as well. I swear, I'm going to butcher the evil side of this rpg so badly that you wouldn't even find the hacked up little pieces.

Lol. LDM, if you butcher the evil character, I will hunt down each individual piece and staple it to a bed of nails, making sure that those pieces never die, but only get to stay in never-ending agony. Hah. n00b. Lol, Kit. Not obsessed. Yeah right. Of course I believe you. Most definitely.

[Insert evil possessive smiley emoticon here] Can it be our domain? And can I have the Arwen/Aragorn part of it? Or at least Beren and Luthien? LDM butchering an evil character? Please. You never butcher characters

But it's my domain! [selfish pouting look] But....the Arwen/Aragorn part of it isn't so endearing to me as the Beren and LĂșthien part of it. So, I guess you can take that part. And there's the fact that you're A-U's Resident Tolkien Scholar. I'm sooooo going to take that title from you this summer. If I'm around, that is. But...you can have part of my LotR domain. A small bit. Yeah, there's small chance of LDM butchering an evil character, but we can always threaten her with the possible consequences.

i will personally hunt you down.
