All right I really don't know. I was looking forward to an epic project like LotR, but after the last DnD movie fiasco (or so I've heard), perhaps an animation really does play on the safe side. I've seen the art and it looks fantastic. Character portraits are great - Laurana and Riverwind especially. I'm looking forward to Raistlin. They could have hired better voice actors, but from what I remember of Xena Lucy Lawless would make an acceptable Goldmoon. As long as they don't screw Raistlin's pretty pyrotechnics, get the dragons looking amazing and all, and add a taste of digital art here and there... I'm fine with it.  |

Yes, we'll see how it goes before I make judgements. This could be either terrible or wonderful. And Lucy Lawless is really a great voice actor, so that's acceptable, I think.

*spasms uncontrollably* A few pointers I've gleaned from lurking around the DL forum. 1. The premiere is at Gen Con 2007. Worldwide theatrical release autumn friggin 2007. 2. The trailer is being worked on. Weis and Hickman nearly cried for joy upon seeing the beginning with the dragons. 3. They're cutting many parts out, including the wicker dragon. 4. Complete cast list www.dragonlance-movie.com/movie/cast/can anyone who watches 24 give me feedback on Sutherland? upon spasdomically calling keyodie 30 seconds after I found out (and hyperventilating over the phone), he apparently has a raspy voice suited for Raistlin. |

He does have a slightly raspy voice, but I am very angry that he will be casting for raistlin. I don't think that he is the best that they could do, but, hey, that's just my opinion. I am grr, angry that their making DL an animated movie, but I'll just hope that the animation is nicely done.

The sets are stunning, and the character sketches aren't bad either. With a touch of digital technology it really should be a hit, especially if it's large enough to be in theaters.

Wow, I would not have pegged Kiefer Sutherland for a Raistlin. He could work okay, I guess *tries to recall his voice* Assuming he can sound evil (don't kill me - I tend to believe Raistlin rather evil) he should work. Going off to check out the website now  EDIT: I can't say honestly that any of the concept art blows me away - what is it with female elves and lack of clothing?! It's SILLY! Laurana needs SO much more armor it's not even funny. And she could be prettier. Tanis and Riverwind I didn't mind, I guess. |

They should have incorporated Matt Stawicki or even Larry Elmore somewhere in the character sketches. I rather liked their portrayals on the book covers.
